Phil has worked at Picker as a member of the Executive team since December 2011. Phil leads the development and delivery of the charities evaluation, insight, improvement and licensing offerings across the group. This includes Picker’s, working with Providers, Commissioners, Regulators and Ministries to support them to use people’s experiences to improve care quality.

With a successful track record in leading large national and international scale data capture and management consulting programmes gained in public sector, the pharmaceutical industry and management consulting arenas, Phil offers the strategic and leadership experience to ensure Picker’s approach and service levels remain at the forefront of industry standards.

More broadly he sits as a member of the Picker board, is the Managing Director of the charity’s subsidiary Picker HWA, the Executive lead for the Picker International Experience Network, and the Picker Patient Experience Award. He holds a number of external advisory roles on behalf of the charity including:

  • Lead consultant/advisor for international development partnerships including (but not limited to) Picker partnerships in England, Wales, Ireland, Germany, The Netherlands, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Spain ,Switzerland and New Zealand
  • Member of the Planetree International accreditation board
  • Member of the European Voices project scientific committee
  • Member of the Emergency Ambulance Services (Wales) – Quality Assurance And Improvement Board (2016 – 2019)

Phil has 20 years’ experience working in the healthcare sector. With experience in the design, development and improvement of care pathways including cardiovascular health, respiratory health, smoking cessation and pain. He has led international work streams across a variety of heath care areas and health jurisdictions with a particular interest in change management within a health care setting.
