Dr. Al-Ruzzieh, brings over 30 years of extensive experience in nursing, including more than 20 years in hospital management and leadership, and over 15 years as an executive healthcare leader. She is a recognized expert in nursing excellence, including Magnet® designation and shared governance, focusing on nurses’ empowerment and innovation to achieve exemplary outcomes through transformational leadership and shared governance. She has a proven track record of driving quality initiatives and projects that elevate nursing standards, improve patient experiences, and enhance outcomes through collaborative and evidence-based approaches.
As Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) in Jordan, Dr. Al-Ruzzieh has led groundbreaking initiatives. Under her leadership, KHCC became the first hospital in Jordan to achieve Magnet® Designation in 2019 and its second re-designation in 2024. Furthermore, KHCC became the first hospital in the Middle East to receive accreditation for shared governance from the Forum for Shared Governance in 2020. She also established the first Oncology Nursing Residency Program (ON-RP) in Jordan, accredited with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in 2022, marking it as the first of its kind in Jordan and the second in the Middle East.
Dr. Al-Ruzzieh’s leadership extends beyond operational achievements to strategic influence. She has been an influential advisory member on numerous national, regional, and international boards. Currently, she continues to actively serve on the International Advisory Board for ANCC, the Advisory Board of the Forum for Shared Governance, AONL Education Committee and the advisory boards of the four prominent nursing schools in Jordan.
Dr. Al-Ruzzieh’s commitment to advancing patient-centered care is exemplified by her role as chairperson of KHCC’s Patient-Centered Care Committee since 2018. In 2024, she became the first in Jordan to be credentialed as a Fellow in Person-Centered Care (FPCC). This distinction reflects her dedication to embedding person-centered values into healthcare delivery.
Dr. Al-Ruzzieh is a keynote speaker, having lectured extensively to healthcare leaders and nurses at regional and international conferences. She shares her expertise on topics such as Magnet® designation, transformational leadership, shared governance, healthcare accreditation, quality management and patient safety, and patient-centered care. Her contributions to nursing excellence and leadership was recognized with the HRH Princess Mona Al-Hussein Award for Nursing Leadership in Jordan in 2013. Her dedication to education, quality, and practice has been showcased through various publications and presentations.
